Ayshém (Ai Shan) 艾闪

Ayshem (Ai Shan) is an independent electronic music producer, songwriter, composer and vocalist based in Beijing, China.

The stage name “Ayshem” originates from a book preface: “shem” is a minor-language translation of the Chinese character “Shan” (Flash), while “Ay” echoes “Ai” (Love) in Chinese. Thus, it is adapted to the Chinese homophone surname “Ai”.

Influenced by punk, rock and other alternative independent music during middle and high school, Ayshem became deeply fascinated with electronic music after accidentally hearing 8‑bit music at an underground Livehouse. She began creating 8‑bit demos using a Gameboy with NanoLoop.

She frequently immersed herself in underground club parties worldwide, deeply impacted by club culture and underground dance music. Between 2017 and 2020, she gradually started exploring synthesizers and modular instruments.

In 2022, she began producing electronic music on a computer.

In 2023, she founded her own label ZEIT HAUS (Time House). Under the name Ayshem, she released four electronic singles via ZEIT HAUS, including U R MY POSSIBILITY, a collaboration with drum & bass producer Radiax—her first official music partnership.

The track’s mixing and mastering were completed with Shen, founder of the renowned Beijing independent electronic label Ran, and Brad M. Seippel at Brevity of Motion Sounds studio.

In 2025, Ayshem released her first full-length independent electronic album Perspective II via ZEIT HAUS, featuring two entirely modular improvisational records.

From 2016 to 2019, as both performer and composer, she was invited to collaborate with numerous Chinese independent musicians on various singles and vinyl albums.

Strongly influenced by contemporary art and culture, she has performed cross-disciplinary shows at many contemporary music and art events.

Starting in 2025, she has performed modular sets at the Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland) at the Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre and at the 10th Modalism (Communication Mode) event in Beijing.

Ayshem（艾闪）来自中国北京，是一名兼作词，作曲，演唱的独立电子音乐制作人。Ayshem名字来源于某天在一本书的前言里发现shem是中文字“闪”的小语种翻译，Ay是中文爱的意思。故化为中文同音姓氏”艾”。

最早在初高中时期，受朋克摇滚等独立另类音乐影响。偶然在一次地下Livehouse中听到8 Bit音乐，由此对电子音乐产生沉浸式着迷，并开始用GameboyNanoLoop制作8bit音乐小样。喜欢穿梭在世界各地地下Club派对中，被Club文化和地下电子舞曲音乐浸染冲击，2017-2020年偶然开始逐渐接触到合成器及模块等电子乐器。

2022年开始尝试用电脑制作电子音乐。2023年创立个人电子音乐厂牌ZEIT HAUS（时间之屋），并用Ayshem之名，在个人独立厂牌ZEIT HAUS发行4首电子音乐单曲。其中一首单曲U R MY POSSIBILITY / 你是我的可能性邀请D&B音乐人Radiax展开首次音乐上的合作，混音母带与北京知名独立电子音乐厂牌Ran创始人Shen，及Brad M.Seippel at Brevity of Motion Sounds工作室合作完成。

2025年在个人音乐厂牌ZEIT HAUS发行第一张独立电子音乐专辑Perspective II /二次透视。俩张纯模块即兴专辑。

2016-2019以演奏者和创作者身份，受邀与中国众多独立音乐人合作发行了一些音乐单曲及黑胶唱片专辑。同时深受当代艺术文化沖击，并在众多当代音乐文化场景进行跨界演出。2025年开始以模块形式在苏州文化艺术中心瑞士蒙特勒音乐节和北京第十届交流方式演出。
